This is the success story of our alumni, Akshata. She has completed her Masters in Business Law at NLSIU – Bangalore. LL.M in Intellectual Property Rights with the first division from V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Goa University She has prior experience in reviewing case laws related to IPR during the LLB/LLM program. Also, she prepared research-oriented reports and presentations on different areas of law.

She performed drafting of Patent and Trademarks, Database search for Patents and Trademarks, Filing of Patents and Trademarks, and Major and minor programs for legal aid across various genres like Child labour, Domestic violence, Environmental Laws She secured a Certificate in Civil Law Systems from Universidade de Lisbon & V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Goa.

Later, she got herself enrolled in Job oriented Patent Analyst Training (JOPAT) program of IIPTA.

In this 3-months JOPAT program of IIPTA, she learned about laws associated with trademarks, copyrights, and patents in India and the U.S. and how they are helpful in the IPR industry. Also, he learned about patent searching in databases. Indian Patent Office (IPO), United States Patents and Trademarks (USPTO), European Patent Office (EPO), Google Patents and World Intellectual property Organization (WIPO). She also mentioned how live classes helped her grasp the knowledge of IPR. She expressed how the JOPAT program IIPTA enabled her to learn practical knowledge in the domain of IPR and also in personality development.

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) means to the rights defined by law or the rights to any interest protected by law in relation to patent rights, utility models, trademarks, design rights, copyrights and other intellectual properties.
