How a lawyer changed his career to IP?

Sudhanshu graduated from Guru Gobind Singh University, Delhi (BA, LLB). During his graduation he was totally in the litigation process but he has faced a lot of difficulties while he was practicing litigation because he is a first generation lawyer. He described that it's difficult for a first generation lawyer and an average student to get an opportunity to appear and present their case before the judge. Usually clerical work was offered to him, not litigation. So, after doing litigation for 1 year, he thought of changing his career in the corporate domain that’s why he opted IPR field as a career.

He changed his profession to IPR and joined the 3 months JOPAT Program where he got practical knowledge of IPR. During his 3 months course, IIPTA taught him Patent searching, Patentability searching, FTO searching, Invalidity searching, Prior art searching, Patent laws of Indian, US & European jurisdictions, Patent prosecution, Patent forms, Patent infringement, Patent Drafting etc .

Earlier, he was working in Ayodhya District Court and Lucknow Bench Allahabad High Court. With the guidance of IIPTA he was able to get a job in Centrics IP (one of the top IP companies) as Business Development associate.
