Pragya has an IPR subject in her B.Tech which she finds interesting and an emerging field. After completing her M.Tech in Biotechnology, she searched for a place from where she could learn more about IPR. Later, she came to know about IIPTA’s Post Graduate Diploma Program, then she joined it where she learnt a lot of new things about IPR like Patent Drafting, Patent searching, and Indian, US & European Patent Laws etc. She told about the challenges which she had faced during her struggling period to secure a job in the corporate sector as a fresher.

Why did she choose the IPR field as a career?

Intellectual property is among the practice areas which have high career growth. It is defined as a creative work or invention produced by human creativity which is protected from unauthorized use by others with the help of IPR law. It includes manuscripts, songs, logo designs, mobile applications, or even proprietary knowledge like the formula for a soft drink etc. All these are examples of intellectual property (IPR). IP is an individual's or a company's most valuable asset which is protected by hiring IP specialists like Intellectual property attorneys, Patent agents, Patent analysts etc.

She talked about how IIPTA (Indian Institute of Patent and Trademark) proved to be a best platform for her as a fresher who wants to have a successful career in corporates. She said IIPTA taught her Patent searching, Patentability searching, FTO searching, Invalidity searching, Prior art searching, Patent laws of Indian, US & European jurisdictions, Patent prosecution, Patent forms, Patent infringement, Patent Drafting etc .
