Screen:
Apple iPhone 5 features a lcd screen having specifications LED-backlit IPS TFT, capacitive touch screen, 16 M colors. The first patent for the touch screen device was granted to Apple Inc. in 1998 which was US 7479949(Touch screen device, method and graphical user interface for determining commands by applying heuristics). The present screen is based upon the modifications in this patent only.
Keyboard:
The virtual keyword of Apple iPhone 5 is known for its appearance and user interface. US patent application US 20110055697 (Alphanumeric keypad for touch screen devices) has found its use in the latest iPhone. The same was also used in iPhone 4 and 4S.
Camera:
Apple is not known for their cameras but this time they have done a special work in this field and provided an “i Sight” camera of 8mp(with the best resolution being 3, 264×2 ,448 pixels) with a feature list that includes backside illumination, a hybrid IR filter, a five-element lens, and a f2.4 aperture. A dynamic light mode is new, and you should be able to launch photography apps up to 2.1 times faster. Another addition is an image signal processor in the A6 chip. That will bring spatial noise reduction and a “smart filter” that produces better low-light performance and captures photos faster. Finally, there’s a built-in panorama mode that stitches shots together for one large 28-megapixel photo. Battery life:
LTE tends to be a power hog, but the iPhone 5 is set to deliver respectable battery life. Apple is promising for 8 hours of 3G talk time, 8 hours of 3G browsing, 8 hours of LTE browsing, 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing, 10 hours of video playback, 40 hours of music playback, and 225 hours of standby time. This has been made possible by the US application no. US 20120178505(Smart charging system) an US 20120187902(Portable battery charger) which are both, themselves, a landmark in Apple’s innovative collection.
Processor:
A6 processor have been used in iPhone 5 which is said to have double the speed of it predecessor i.e. A5.
CEO, Tim Cook have said that A6 is 22 percent smaller than the A5 and hence more energy-efficient. The Apple CEO promises the Pages app will load up 2.1x faster than before, while Keynote attachments will hit the screen 1.7x faster. Till now its not known who have manufactured current processor as their have been a rift going on between Apple and Samsung who used to manufacture chips for Apple before(A5 was manufactured by Samsung).
Operating system:
With the introduction of Apple iPhone 5 Apple Inc have also introduced iOS6 to the market. Playback:
In Apple iPhone 5 users get a high definition experience of viewing videos and gets 10 hrs of playback with its battery fully charged. The playback of media recordings is protected by the US application no. US 20110103560.
