Court restrains Star TV " Master Chef " Show

With the grand finale of Star TV round the corner, district court of Gurgoan has sent notice to Star TV to stop using the " Master Chef " trademark  till further notice. Star TV Private limited is restrined from using trademark " Master Chef India 2 " , " Master Chef Australia" and " Master Chef USA " on Star Plus Channel as well as Star World Channel. 

 

Additional District and Session Judge Vimal Kumar gave the order, on account of suit filed by Mumbai based Wings Entertainment Limited. Wings Entertainment Limited claimed that on October 2010 company gave the legal notice to Star TV on October 2010 , but Star TV continued infringing the trademark by telecasting the show. 

We have searched the trademark on the www.ipindia.nic in. As per report above Wings Entertainment Limited has filed application in class 41 - Entertainment and the status is still objected.
